System requirements for iKelp POS Mobile and iKelp Pokladňa
The mobile ordering solution and the POS system for restaurants and cafés are provided as a service in the form of a web application. Devices that waiters use to handle guests' orders right at the table, as well as the POS system, must meet the following requirements:
- Internet access of the required quality
- A touch screen with the parameters below
- Sufficient device performance
- A supported operating system with the appropriate web browser
Despite the manufacturer's best efforts, it cannot be guaranteed that the application will run correctly on every device that meets the system requirements below. Countless devices are made worldwide with various specific modifications and versions of operating systems and web browsers. The manufacturer of iKelp POS Mobile and iKelp Pokladňa has no control over their specific behaviour and cannot influence it. Behaviour of this kind is not considered a defect of the web application and cannot be the basis of a complaint.
As a rule, the newer and more expensive the device you use, the smoother and more comfortable the work. Nowadays most devices priced from 150 € meet all the necessary requirements.
Internet access
iKelp POS Mobile is provided as a web POS application. The device it runs on must have internet access. We recommend one of the following options:
- Mobile internet directly in the device: in this case, at least 3G / HSPA or 4G / LTE internet must be used. (For one device a month, internet for about 3 € a month from a mobile operator is enough, for example.)
- A WiFi network at the business: in this case, we recommend an internet connection at DSL quality or higher. If your WiFi network is also used by guests, we recommend a separate password-protected network for iKelp POS Mobile or iKelp Pokladňa. With many visitors, the network may become overloaded and the service may slow down because of cheap, non-professional and home devices that are not designed for environments with many connected clients.
Touch screen
To show all the necessary elements of the iKelp POS Mobile or iKelp Pokladňa application on the device's display, the following technical parameters must be met:
- minimum device resolution: 360 x 800
- recommended minimum device resolution:
- for displays smaller than 7 inches: 360 x 800
- for displays of 7 inches and more: 400 x 1024
When choosing a suitable device, we recommend:
- choosing a device size that sits comfortably in your hand (a narrower 21:9 device is better than a wider one)
- choosing a suitable case for your device, ideally one that attaches to a belt
Mobile device performance
The device used must meet the following performance parameters.
For devices running Android:
- Processor: 1.6 GHz, or dual-core 1.2 GHz or more
- Memory: 2 GB RAM or more
Operating system with a web browser
The device used must have one of the following operating systems with the appropriate browser:

Useful links:
User comfort cannot be guaranteed for every possible combination, as not all combinations support all the necessary technologies. For example, the built-in Android browser is not supported: the application slows down when switching categories because the browser does not support Local Cache. For this reason, we do not recommend using it in a production environment.
